Starbase MCO7.02 - Lamed

MCO- class are designed to incorporate the advantage of
mobility into the impressive firepower of static installations.

Although technically classified under the designation of
'starbase', this facility has been stripped of most such
paraphernalia - replaced by many, varied lasers which
seem to fire with megalomanic zeal.

The dream residence of any small-time space tyrant, this station serves essentially as an assault weapon specialising in the skewering any vessel smaller than fullblown cruisers.
Agility is of no use - the tracking systems installed in its
three satellite arms are pure terror even to fighters.

The construction of this particular station hasn't actually
been completed before its commision. It is perhaps
fortunate that Lamed does not yet possess all of the
specified armaments, generators and armour plating,
though such shortcomings isn't usually a problem when the station is pitted against lone fighters seeking to attempt
the absurd.

Notes: This is more of a twitch reflexes boss than pattern
memorising. You WILL die, painfully, many times, until you
figure out how the laser works.

 The battle image itself should be quite self-explanatory as to the purpose of these ships. The captain of this this bad-boy was evidently promoted from the helm of a ramming frigate, still fresh from battles with turanic raiders and taiidani rebels.

These vessels are also popular amongst raiders who enjoy playing chicken with their hapless prey - Alternating between rounds of genuine charging and close shaves just to pepper their target with vulcan and plasma fire.

Notes: The cruiser is actually handicapped somewhat at the top ranks so that it is still possible to do this with no deaths.
