Our first theme month, our first monthly theme, obvious, straight-forward, and fun. After all, who doesn't love Star Wars? Just remember: The power to destroy a planet pales in comparison to the power of The Force! |
| June 2008: 5 Parts |
Spicing things up for our second theme! Entries must only have 5 parts. The core counts as 1 part. Entries will be rated on originality, so use events to their fullest to create something special within the restriction! |
| July 2008: Fireworks Display |
A chance to show off your creative skills. Design and build a fireworks display (to be watched in the editor, not fought). Display should last 3 mins at most, and a youtube video synced to music will score higher. Will be scored using the Design, Looks and Originality categories. The Looks category will have a maximum score of 10 for this month. |
| August 2008: Final Boss |
Make a boss that would basically be considered the "end boss" of a SHMUP game. There's a slightly more detailed description over at the new Fraxy forums. |

I have an insane idea but I can't put it to work properly because I'm hampered by Fraxy's limits and my horrible laziness in creating overly complex stuff. Also, LAG DESYNCING.

Note to judges: All entries must be judged on normal mode, not extreme or (the new) fun modes. This doesn't matter for July because you're not fighting them, but for future themes it does.

Well, I'd be happy taking anyone's idea as long as everyone agrees on it :-). We don't need to stick to one person choosing the theme. If it's a bad theme idea then we're not gonna go on with it for the sake of someone choosing. Of course, whoever's "turn" it is gets preference and a fair chance of putting their idea forward!

1) I will announce next month's theme in a couple of days. 2) Due to the recent Fraxy update, July's contest is extended until the second Saturday in August (that's the 9th), considering the newest update adds in a few things that can make some very interesting patterns. :P

just a thought- maybe when deciding contests, it could be more of a vote than just waiting for you to come up with something. I'm sure some people will have really good suggestions here and there.

Agreed with Daijitsu. Even though my July theme was put forward with no actual vote or discussion, I did request to hear other ideas alongside. Saying that....if one person chooses a theme, and the rest think its a good idea, we may as well go with it! I'd have no probs with that too :-)
