Hello, fellow Fraxy users! This is a tutorial on how to "create" weapons that act differently than they normally would. This is excellent for suprise attacks on an unsuspecting player! The general idea behind Alternate Purpose Weapons is similar to the Custom Weapon Creation tutorial in the sense that you add different weapons onto an existing one to enhance the first weapon. With the ability to Hide and Shadow parts, this effect can look seamless in design!
OK, here is an example of how to modify your weapons:
Here we have a Vulcan-Twin. It is a pretty standard weapon that shoots small vulcan shots. This weapon looks like it needs an upgrade!
This is what it normally shoots out. Not too threatening in the beginning of a battle, it works better to add additional pressure.
Eh? Since when did a Vulcan-Twin do that! This is the end result of a modification. The process to making such mods is simple, but depending on how complex the shape of the initial weapon and the spot where the alternate weapons shoot, the process can be a little annoying.
As you probably have figured out by now, the Vulcan-Twin shoots two Laser S weapons. Each one is fitted onto a gun and made to look like the Vulcan-Twin is shooting the lasers.
Now to show the actual process! First, select your initial weapon, in this case the Vulcan-Twin.
The first thing you should do is stop the weapon from firing. It would be odd looking to have the weapon fire it's original payload in addition to the new stuff. Change the Movement to Stop.
Next, position the Laser S weapons so when they fire, the charge of the lasers makes it look like the Vulcan-Twin is firing from it's guns. This is the most tedious part of the process since it should look seamless.
Finally, select both of the Laser S weapons and set their Show Flag to Hide. You could also leave them visible in order to make the weapon look better. If you do leave the alternate weapons Normal, you should consider boosting their Durability so they do not get destroyed earlier than the initial weapon.
This is but one of many countless examples that one can do to make their creations even more menacing! This doesn't work for just weapons either! You can combine Cores and Boosters to create interesting effects, probably other Cores as well! Also, if you combine this technique with the stacked weapon technique, the results would be very insane! So to all Fraxy users, go out and create!!!
